THE HOUSE ON THE OCEAN

GRIS_POLONIO was not just the realization of a House project, but rather the creation of a space, suspended between the dunes and the ocean.

The four natural elements express themselves in this corner of the world where the fine sand of the Uruguayan coast merges with the ocean waves. The fiery sunsets of the South contemplated while enjoying the refreshing sea breezes become memories that are difficult to miss.

6 to 8 BEDS

The house, designed by architect Cosimo Venti, is spread over a very large surface area. All rooms overlook a deck equipped with sunbeds and deckchairs for sunbathing. An external staircase leads to a roof terrace, perfect for observing the stars and the dunes that lead to the beach. A master bedroom with en suite bathroom and fireplace, a bedroom with two beds, one bathroom and a large living room with kitchen, dining room and lounge with fireplace and two large sofa beds.

Washing machine available and typical parrija for the asado.

GRIS_POLONIO SUITE

Grispolonio suite is a small apartment with independent entrance with double bedroom, en suite bathroom and a kitchen. This unit can be rented separately or as part of the house.

"The project for the GRIS_POLONIO house it slowly materialized after its owner's story about this magical and discreet place. From the story I understood that the beauty of these dunes and this landscape could not compete with exuberant architecture. It seemed logical to me to proceed with a minimal and discreet intervention that would let the surrounding landscape prevail.
I therefore thought of a neutral container where you can feel good and appreciate freedom and distance from everything. A large living room with a central fireplace that separates it from the area dedicated to the kitchen. Two large bedrooms that frame views of the outside and 2 independent bathrooms.

One of the owners' requests was to consider local construction techniques and above all to use wood to minimize the natural impact. Once I reached the site during the construction phase, I also designed the furnishings directly in the local artisans' ateliers.

GRIS_POLONIO was not the realization of a project, but rather the creation of a space, suspended between the dunes and the ocean."
